In a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan found himself laughing as he pressed former President Donald Trump for clarity on his controversial assertions about the 2020 election. The three-hour conversation, which aired on October 26, 2024, notably delayed Trump’s scheduled appearance in Traverse City, Michigan.
During their discussion, Trump made a puzzling statement, saying, “I won by like, I lost by like…I didn’t lose.” Rogan’s laughter indicated his disbelief at the vague assertion. Trump continued to argue that he lost by a slim margin, stating, “They say I lost, Joe, they say I lost by 22,000 votes. That’s like one one-tenth of one percent… a tiny little thing.” He attempted to shift the topic to the involvement of “51 intelligence agents” and the Hunter Biden laptop story, avoiding Rogan’s inquiries for specific details about the alleged election fraud.
When Rogan pressed Trump further about what he meant by a “crooked” election, Trump’s responses remained ambiguous. He mentioned the need for legislative approvals for voting changes but failed to provide any concrete examples that could substantiate his claims.
Despite Trump’s insistence that Wisconsin admitted to a rigged election, he could not produce evidence when challenged. Instead, he redirected the conversation to broader grievances regarding Russia and President Biden.
Throughout the interview, it became clear that Trump’s allegations about a stolen election have become a central theme in his ongoing campaign against Kamala Harris. At a recent rally, he reiterated his belief that he performed better in the 2020 election than in 2016. “It was a rigged election,” he stated, suggesting that if he genuinely believed he lost, he wouldn’t be campaigning again.
“You know last time, last election, we did great in 2016. A lot of people don’t know we did much better in 2020,” Trump asserted to the crowd. “We won, we won, we did win. It was a rigged election.”
He further emphasized his commitment to running again by saying, “You have to tell Kamala Harris, that’s why I’m doing it again. If I thought I lost, I wouldn’t be doing this again. You know where I’d be right now? On the beaches of Monte Carlo maybe, or some place. I’d be having a nice life.”
