A troubling incident unfolded at a polling station in Neptune Beach, Florida, where Caleb Williams, an 18-year-old Trump supporter, was arrested after allegedly brandishing a machete to intimidate Democratic voters. The encounter took place at the Beaches Branch Library, an early voting site located about 20 miles east of Jacksonville, and resulted in serious charges against Williams, including aggravated assault on a person aged 65 or older and improper exhibition of a dangerous weapon.

According to the Neptune Beach Police Department, Williams reportedly confronted two women, ages 71 and 54, raising an 18-inch machete in what was described as an “aggressive, threatening posture.” The elderly victim expressed fear for her safety, and another nearby woman captured a photograph of Williams in the act.

Williams was among a group of eight teenagers gathered outside the library, many of them waving flags in support of former President Donald Trump. Police Chief Michael Key Jr. explained that the group had assembled to protest, with members chanting Trump’s name and engaging in confrontational behavior toward Democratic supporters. The two women targeted by Williams were reportedly holding signs supporting Vice President Kamala Harris.

Outrage over the incident quickly spread, with Chief Key voicing his frustration at a news conference. “I’m extremely angry at this,” he said. “Our First Amendment rights are sacred, but there’s a clear line when one moves from protest to intimidation and violence. I’m disturbed, and saying I’m mad would be an understatement.”

Local Democratic leaders also expressed concern over the aggression. While no other juveniles from the group have been arrested, authorities are continuing their investigation.
