Former model and reality TV star Adrianne Curry, renowned as the first winner of “America’s Next Top Model,” has opened up about her decision to leave Hollywood behind. In an interview with People, Curry disclosed that she opted out of a lucrative offer that would have involved cosmetic procedures, citing a clash with her personal values.

“At 32 years old, I got offered a job for face fillers, and it was a huge payday with free face fillers and one up to my contract and all this stuff,” Curry explained. “But I remember sitting there, and that money was so good that I considered it. Then I thought, ‘I am willing to deface, to mutilate myself for money?’”

This pivotal moment prompted Curry to reassess her career trajectory. “I had to really start to question like, ‘Okay, where is this path going to take me if even for a second I considered injecting something in my face for a payday?’” she reflected.

The allure of Hollywood glamor had begun to wear thin for Curry, who expressed concerns about the impact of constant public scrutiny on her sense of self. “Being in front of a camera so often brought out narcissistic traits I wasn’t proud of,” she admitted. “I feared who I’d become if I continued down that career path.”

Despite the financial sacrifice of leaving Hollywood, Curry emphasized that she gained something invaluable. “I make a hell of a lot less money, but I feel like I have my dignity, my soul,” she stated. “From when I won ‘Top Model’ to that point, a lot of me had been chipped away. It’s like every year you chip another piece off and you’re like, ‘Well, I won’t miss this little piece,’ just to keep it going.”
