In a rally held in Fort Dodge, Iowa, on Saturday, former President Donald Trump launched a scathing attack on President Joe Biden, labeling him a “stupid person” and insinuating that he may be on medication.
Trump, addressing a fervent crowd of supporters, criticized Biden’s leadership abilities, citing the recent meeting between the U.S. President and his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping. Accusing Biden of incompetence, Trump also hinted at the possibility of the president relying on medication.
The recent summit between Biden and Jinping aimed to strengthen relations with China, but it took a contentious turn when Biden referred to Jinping as a “dictator” during a subsequent press conference.
“Our leader is a stupid person,” Trump declared to resounding laughter and cheers from the Republican audience. He went on to mock Biden, gesturing confusion and sarcastically repeating the phrase “thank you.” Trump continued his critique by suggesting that whatever medication Biden may have taken would wear off by the time he finished his speech, making it challenging for him to leave the stage.
Despite being only a few years younger than Biden, the Republican frontrunner has consistently highlighted his opponent’s age on the campaign trail. This rally added another instance to Trump’s use of age-related remarks in his critique of Biden.
As the 2024 election approaches, Biden and Trump emerge as clear favorites for their party nominations, setting the stage for a potential rematch in the general election. According to current polling data from Real Clear Politics, the two candidates are neck-and-neck, with Trump holding a slim lead of 1.6% on average. The heated rhetoric from both sides suggests that the upcoming election will be fiercely contested.
