Ariana Grande has found herself in hot water after revealing Jeffrey Dahmer, the infamous serial killer, as her “dream dinner date” during a recent podcast interview. The pop star’s remarks have sparked outrage, particularly from Shirley Hughes, the mother of Tony Hughes, one of Dahmer’s victims.
During her appearance on the Podcrushed podcast, Grande reminisced about her fascination with serial killers during her younger years, mentioning that she found Dahmer “pretty fascinating.” She candidly shared that she had expressed interest in meeting him, albeit with a third party present, citing a curiosity to ask him questions.
However, Shirley Hughes expressed deep dismay over Grande’s comments, labeling them as disturbing and inappropriate. She criticized Grande, stating, “To me, it seems like she’s sick in her mind. It’s not fancy or funny to say you would have wanted to do dinner with him. It’s also not something you should say to young people, which she says she did.”
Jeffrey Dahmer gained notoriety for his heinous crimes, which included murdering, torturing, and even cannibalizing 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. His victims, predominantly men of color, endured unspeakable horrors, with Dahmer often photographing them and keeping body parts in his refrigerator.
Grande’s comments have sparked widespread condemnation on social media and beyond, with many questioning the appropriateness of her fascination with such a dark figure. Representatives for Ariana Grande have been contacted for comment on the backlash.
