President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are now at the center of a high-stakes legal battle, as Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has filed a major lawsuit against the Biden administration. The lawsuit, which has emerged as a significant legal challenge for the administration, accuses Biden and Harris of orchestrating flights that transport illegal immigrants from the U.S. border directly into Missouri.

According to a report by The Post Millennial on July 29, 2024, Bailey’s lawsuit alleges that the administration has failed to provide crucial documentation related to these flights. “We have reason to believe they are deliberately flying illegal aliens from the border into our cities. Not on my watch,” Bailey declared.

This legal move follows a May initiative led by Rep. Mark Alford and other GOP lawmakers in Missouri. They had previously addressed a letter to Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, seeking information about the transportation of illegal immigrants under the Biden administration’s Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela (CHNV) parole program.

Launched in January 2023, the CHNV program has reportedly facilitated the entry of over 400,000 illegal immigrants into the U.S. Concerns have been raised about the vetting and monitoring procedures for these individuals. The letter highlighted two instances where illegal immigrants were flown into Missouri in 2023, raising alarm about the potential risks of unvetted individuals entering the state.

Bailey has also criticized Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas for his support of the CHNV program, particularly in relation to welcoming illegal immigrants to work in the city. Bailey cited a case where an illegal immigrant from Venezuela, who had repeatedly violated U.S. immigration laws, was granted a work permit under DHS policy and later involved in a violent crime.

“Yet, against the backdrop of literally millions of illegal aliens flooding our borders, overwhelming the social safety net of large American cities, and in some cases even committing violent crimes against our citizens, you are actively encouraging them to come to the Show Me State,” Bailey remarked, opposing Lucas’ position.

In response, Mayor Lucas defended his stance, stating, “All are welcome in Kansas City. Proud to work with my fellow mayors from Denver and NYC as we work to ensure decompression of new arriving communities.” However, he clarified that his offer was intended for individuals with legal work permits.

This lawsuit represents a significant challenge for the Biden administration, reflecting broader debates over immigration policies and their impact on individual states. The outcome of this case could have substantial implications for the administration’s immigration strategy and its relationship with state governments.
