Former President of the United States, Barack Obama, made a humorous remark during a recent White House reunion, causing bursts of laughter among the attendees. Obama, who was returning to the White House after five years, jokingly referred to the current US President, Joe Biden, as “Vice President.”

The 44th president, known for his wit, was in a jovial mood while celebrating the Affordable Care Act alongside Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. Obama quipped, “Thank you, Vice President Biden… vice president,” which elicited laughter from the crowd. While Harris briefly appeared puzzled, Obama clarified, “That was a joke,” and playfully embraced Biden, saying, “My president, Joe Biden. Vice President Harris.” It’s worth noting that during Obama’s tenure as the 44th president, Biden served as his vice president.
Obama’s visit to the White House marked the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act signing and potentially provided support for Biden’s 2024 election campaign. During his speech in the East Room, Obama continued to entertain with jests, mentioning changes made since his last visit.

He humorously remarked, “I heard some changes have been made by the current president since I was last here. Apparently, Secret Service agents now wear aviator glasses, the Navy mess has been replaced by a Baskin Robbins, and there’s even a cat running around. I guarantee you Bo and Sunny would have been very unhappy about it.”
Reflecting on the challenges faced in passing the Affordable Care Act, Obama said, “Despite great odds, Joe and I were determined because we met too many people on the campaign trail who shared their stories, and our own families had been touched by illness.” He added a playful note, saying he was willing to get healthcare passed even if it cost him re-election, which drew enthusiastic laughter from the audience.

In response, President Biden joined in on the fun, jesting, “My name is Joe Biden, and I’m Barack Obama’s vice president.” On a more serious note, he warmly welcomed Obama back to the White House, remarking, “Welcome back to the White House, man. It feels like the good old days.”
The good-natured banter continued as Biden playfully cautioned Obama about the “hot mic” just before Obama signed a new executive order on healthcare. Biden even shared a photograph of their reunion in the Oval Office on social media, creating a light-hearted moment during their visit.
