I won’t comment on a court case, Biden began, but when asked directly about Trump’s insurrectionist label, he asserted that the situation was glaring, leaving the application of the 14th Amendment to the court’s judgment.
Biden affirmed, Well, I think that was certainly self-evident. You saw it all. Now whether the 14th Amendment applies, I’ll let the court make that decision. But he certainly supported an insurrection.
Following the recent Colorado Supreme Court ruling on December 19, 2023, Trump is barred from running or holding office again, relying on Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
In response to the ban, Trump expressed dissatisfaction on Truth Social, quoting Fox News’ Laura Ingraham, who labeled it the ultimate in Election Interference.
Sharing a Fox News video where Gregg Jarrett accused the situation of being election manipulation, Trump criticized Biden, urging him to drop the fake political indictments against him.
Trump claimed these actions were unprecedented, referring to them as a threat to democracy. He employed terms like Banana Republic and Election Interference, concluding with, A Sad Day in America!
