The campaign’s move comes in response to Trump’s recent statements contemplating a reconsideration of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly known as Obamacare, as reported by NBC News on Thursday, November 30, 2023.

The spotlight of the ad is on Jody, a pediatric nurse from Nevada, who voices her apprehensions about the health care policies of the previous administration. The Biden campaign strategically chose to feature Jody, underscoring the personal impact of health care decisions on everyday Americans.

President Biden, during his visit to Pueblo, Colo., directly addressed Trump’s renewed commitment to repealing Obamacare. He criticized his predecessor, stating, “My predecessor wants to get rid of the Affordable Care Act. Over 40 million Americans get their health insurance through the Affordable Care Act. His plan is to throw them off that plan.”

The Biden campaign accentuates the success of the ACA, highlighting its coverage of over 40 million Americans and its expansion under the current administration.

Trump’s recent social media post criticizing Obamacare and promising “MUCH BETTER HEALTHCARE” without providing specifics has intensified the Biden campaign’s focus on health care as a central theme.

The campaign aims to underscore the potential consequences of repealing the ACA, particularly for the millions of Americans who rely on it for health coverage.

Strategically selecting key cities, including Phoenix, Atlanta, Detroit, Las Vegas, Raleigh, Philadelphia, and Milwaukee, the ad will be aired during primetime slots on popular national programs such as The Voice, Survivor, and Bachelor in Paradise, as well as on national cable news channels.

Julie Chavez Rodriguez, campaign manager for Biden-Harris 2024, emphasized the importance of health care on Biden’s agenda. She stated, “President Biden has made it a priority to lower costs and expand access to health care, and hard-working Americans are seeing and feeling the results.”

Rodriguez highlighted the contrast between Biden’s approach and the potential repercussions of Trump’s push to repeal the ACA, emphasizing the risk of millions of Americans losing their health care and facing increased costs.

Throughout the week, the Biden campaign has consistently focused on health care-related issues, drawing attention to topics such as pre-existing conditions and underscoring the positive impact of the current health care law on communities of color.
