Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds not only share a family but also collaborate professionally, utilizing the talents of composer Rob Simonsen for their latest films. Lively revealed this interesting tidbit in an Instagram Stories post on August 2, showcasing how their creative projects intersect behind the scenes.
Lively, known for her role in “Gossip Girl,” shared that Simonsen, who composed the score for Reynolds’ recently released “Deadpool & Wolverine,” also worked on her upcoming romantic drama “It Ends with Us.” She posted a playlist of songs that inspired her while working on the film, mentioning that some tracks were used during filming, editing, or marketing, while others made it into the final cut of the movie.
In her post, Lively tagged her collaborators from “It Ends with Us,” expressing gratitude for their dedication and highlighting Simonsen’s contribution. She humorously noted, “Yeah the @deadpoolmovie composer. My husband and I share more than children,” referencing their daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, Betty, 4, and son Olin, 1.
Simonsen, acknowledging Lively’s praise, reshared her post on his own account, complimenting her impeccable music taste and humorously referencing “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”
“It Ends with Us,” based on Colleen Hoover’s novel, features Lively in a starring role opposite Justin Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar, Isabela Ferrer, and Kevin McKidd. Lively also took on the role of producer for the film.
