Camila Banus, known for her long-standing role as Gabriela Hernandez on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, recently took to Instagram to share her discontent with former co-stars and their behavior. The actress, who exited the show in November 2023 after a 13-year tenure, expressed her frustrations in a series of Instagram Stories posted on May 15, 2024.
Banus’s Instagram Remarks
In her posts, Banus accused her former colleagues of befriending “snakes” and allowing negative behavior to persist. She wrote:
“I will never understand all the people at my previous place of employment that are friends with snakes. Just know this. I remember all, I will continue to remember how those snakes treated me and how others allowed and perpetuated their behavior. I remember times where everyone just stayed quiet, knowing what was happening was wrong. Men and women.”

Her cryptic messages were accompanied by teapot and coffee cup emojis, suggesting she was spilling some insider gossip.
Departure and Controversy
Banus announced her departure from Days of Our Lives in May 2023, citing a desire for more personal time and the hope of starting a family. Her exit coincided with a tumultuous period for the show, which faced allegations of abuse and harassment from former producer Albert Alarr. The cast had petitioned for Alarr’s removal, bringing the show’s off-screen issues to light.
Legal Actions and Allegations
The Days of Our Lives production faced further scrutiny when Banus’s former co-star, Arianne Zucker, sued Corday Productions Inc. Zucker’s lawsuit, filed earlier this year, alleged sexual harassment, discrimination, and wrongful termination. She claimed that the company failed to act against Alarr’s alleged misconduct, which included harassment and degradation of women both on and off the set.
Zucker stated:
“So for all my coworkers who said they were scared to say anything out of fear of being fired, well, you all were right.”

Banus’s Career and Achievements
Camila Banus joined Days of Our Lives in October 2010, portraying Gabriela Hernandez. After a three-year stint, she left in 2013, only to return briefly in 2015. She rejoined the cast in 2018 and remained until her departure in November 2023. Banus’s performance earned her a nomination for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2015.
