In an exclusive interview with Fox News on Thursday, January 18, 2024, Charlamagne Tha God, the outspoken co-host of the “Breakfast Club,” voiced his astonishment at the mounting discontent among working-class voters, squarely attributing the ongoing southern border migrant crisis to President Biden.
During the discussion with Fox News Digital, Charlamagne highlighted a notable shift in sentiment among his listeners, revealing an unexpected surge of concern within the working-class communities. He expressed that the impact of the migrant crisis has become a prevalent topic among his audience, potentially posing challenges for Democrats in the upcoming 2024 election.
“I have the privilege of doing morning radio and speaking to working-class people every single day,” Charlamagne explained. “People are really concerned about this issue.”
Charlamagne conveyed the heightened frustration voiced by his listeners regarding the migrant issue, citing instances such as the MS13 gang overrunning neighborhoods and the recent controversy in New York City, where migrants were housed in schools, disrupting normal schooling.
“I’ve never seen working-class people who I interact with every day until this past year really, really, really expressed their frustration for the migrants,” he emphasized.
The co-host criticized Democratic mayors, including New York City Mayor Eric Adams, for their evolving stance on the situation, noting a change in attitude. He also highlighted the altered tone from key figures like Vice President Kamala Harris, who advised migrants not to come.
“We’ve heard Vice President Kamala Harris say, ‘Hey, don’t come.’ So yeah, I think it’s going to be a real, real, real, real, real big issue,” Charlamagne remarked during the interview.
Expressing doubt about Congress finding a solution due to the filibuster rule, Charlamagne placed unequivocal responsibility on President Biden for the crisis at the southern border.
“He’s the President of the United States of America! If he can take credit for the good things that happen in this country, he has to take credit for the bad as well because those things happen on his watch,” Charlamagne asserted.
Despite the controversial nature of the tactic, Charlamagne acknowledged its effectiveness in prompting Democrats to reconsider their position on the issue. He noted the voters’ perception, suggesting that on the surface, it appears as if Republicans were right about the matter, leading some Democrats to align with their counterparts.
“So it makes a lot of people say, ‘Well, damn, Republicans were actually right on that issue.’ Just on the surface, just plain on the surface, that’s how it looks, you know, to the average voter,” Charlamagne concluded.
