Colin Jost, the witty co-host of Weekend Update, didn’t miss a beat when it came to poking fun at former President Donald Trump in light of Hunter Biden’s recent tax-related troubles in California.
Jost slyly remarked, “A federal indictment this week alleges Hunter Biden evaded over $1 million in taxes between 2016 and 2020. And they’re only catching him now? Man, this is super embarrassing for whoever was president from 2016 to 2020.”
Adding to the banter, Michael Che jokingly suggested we might never know who was president during those years, playfully pointing to an altered Capitol riot image where Jost could have been one of the rioters.
This isn’t the first time Jost has hilariously tackled Trump’s legal woes. In October, he introduced Trump as Former president and current courtroom sketch model Donald Trump, referencing Trump’s rare court appearance.
Jost even brought levity to Trump’s civil business fraud trial with a courtroom sketch joke, highlighting the uncertainty around which trial it was. He didn’t stop there, connecting a rat fight video to Michael Cohen’s claim that Trump’s kids had a hand in his financial accounts, suggesting Ivanka wrote summaries, Don Jr. handled numbers, and Eric licked envelopes.
Jost’s comedic flair not only entertains the Weekend Update audience but also underscores the blend of politics and humor in today’s media landscape.
