Former speechwriter for Donald Trump, Stephen Miller, asserted that the state of New York altered its laws deliberately to target the former president. Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Miller argued that this move was not only unconstitutional but part of a broader effort to crush Trump and his allies.
Addressing the CPAC audience, Miller exclaimed, “Big broad laws will be used to crush us. It will be used to obliterate us. Look at what New York did when they went after Donald Trump. They changed the law, which is unconstitutional, by the way, to go after one man.”
Miller’s claims come in the aftermath of a ruling by New York Judge Arthur Engoron, who ordered the Trump Organization to pay a substantial $354 million in damages after finding the company guilty of widespread fraud. Engoron also imposed temporary business restrictions on Trump and his sons.
Adding to the financial strain, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump were fined $4 million each, delivering another significant blow to the former president and his family. Additionally, Donald Trump himself has been barred from serving as a corporate officer or director of any company in New York for three years, severely curtailing his future business prospects.
