Last week, Siaka Massaquoi, a member of the Los Angeles County Republican Party, was apprehended by FBI officials at Los Angeles International Airport on misdemeanor charges tied to his involvement in the January 6 Capitol attack, as per the LA Times.
In June 2021, authorities had previously raided Massaquoi’s North Hollywood residence due to his connections on a social media app, according to a law enforcement source. In response, Massaquoi posted an Instagram video claiming innocence, stating, I did nothing wrong on the 6th… did nothing violent.
Recently, the Red State columnist, who was arrested on Nov 30th, 2023, took to Twitter to share a livestream video from inside the Capitol on Jan. 6. The video, lasting 71 seconds, depicts Massaquoi among a group of protesters at a Capitol door, with Capitol Police attempting to remove them. Some protesters express a desire to leave but are hindered by the crowd.
Massaquoi faces charges including trespassing, disorderly conduct, and parading or demonstrating in a Capitol building. He spent a night in jail and was released on a $1,000 bond on Friday, according to the LA Times.
