Former President Donald Trump, in a fervent declaration during a recent rally in Iowa, voiced his unwavering confidence in securing victories in traditionally Democratic strongholds such as California and New York, under the condition that the election process was presided over by Jesus and God.
Addressing a crowd as part of his 2024 campaign for the Republican Presidential nomination, Trump reiterated his claims of a rigged 2020 election and underscored his belief that a fair election, overseen by divine entities, would yield a different outcome in blue states.
Trump, known for his assertive stance on alleged irregularities in the electoral process, particularly emphasized his concerns regarding the handling of mail-in ballots in states like California and New York. He contended that eliminating what he perceived as election irregularities, including paper ballots, would pave the way for victory.
“If they didn’t have rigged elections out there, if they didn’t have all the paper ballots… I think if you had a real election and Jesus came down and God came down and said, I’m going to be the scorekeeper here, I think we would win there,” asserted Trump, receiving applause from the audience.
The former president further suggested that changing sentiments among Democrats in states like New York could impact election outcomes. Trump pointed to issues such as immigration, claiming that Democrats in New York were turning against President Joe Biden.
Extending his optimism beyond the 2024 election, Trump confidently declared that Republicans could secure victories in traditionally Democratic strongholds like New York, New Jersey, and Virginia, aligning these states with Republican values.
“I think you can win New York. I think you can win New Jersey. I think we can win Virginia,” he declared, emphasizing his belief in a potential shift towards Republican support in these states.
Trump, not content with addressing present concerns, delved into the past, arguing that past elections in blue states could have been won by Republicans if not for alleged rigging perpetuated by what he termed as the “radical left Democrats.” He stressed the need to address what he perceived as a systemic issue, declaring, “Our elections are totally rigged, and we’ve got to do something about it.”
These assertions come amid Trump’s ongoing campaign for the Republican nomination, where he faces competition from other prominent figures within the party. His unwavering confidence in securing victories in traditionally Democratic states underscores the depth of his belief in a system he claims has been rigged against him and the Republican party, as he continues to rally support for his political endeavors.
