NEW YORK  LeakXtra — In an exclusive interview on CNN’s The Source with Kaitlan Collins, seasoned New York Times correspondent and CNN analyst Maggie Haberman unveiled her analysis of former President Donald Trump’s evolving rhetoric, describing it as taking on an “increasingly apocalyptic” tone. Haberman emphasized that Trump is overtly signaling his intent to target President Joe Biden and his family should he secure a potential second term.

Trump’s recent speeches have been marked by a grim and foreboding language, drawing parallels to historical figures like Adolf Hitler. He frames the upcoming 2024 election as a decisive battle, rallying his supporters with pledges to dismantle the “deep state,” eliminate perceived adversaries from the government, and eradicate ideologies he opposes. According to Haberman, Trump’s rhetoric paints a narrative of the nation in crisis, desperately in need of a profound transformation.

During the CNN interview, Brianna Keilar presented a montage of Trump’s speeches, prompting Haberman to delve into the underlying messages. She explained that Trump, alongside many of his supporters, depicts the current state of the country in dire terms, casting it as a battleground for the soul of the nation. Haberman highlighted Trump’s consistent positioning of himself as the agent of retribution and change.

Explicitly outlining Trump’s plans, Haberman pointed to his intention to target President Biden and his family, radically reshape the federal government, and challenge established norms, including the post-Watergate relationship between the Justice Department and the White House. Trump’s unconventional immigration plan also emerged as a crucial component of his broader vision for the country.

While acknowledging concerns about specific policy issues such as the border and inflation, Haberman stressed that Trump’s rhetoric extends beyond policy discussions. She suggested a personal element of payback in Trump’s presidential vision, indicating a desire to settle scores and reshape the political landscape on his terms.

In a rally cry for 2024, Trump declared, “2024 IS OUR FINAL BATTLE! WITH YOU AT MY SIDE, WE WILL DEMOLISH THE DEEP STATE. WE WILL EXPEL THE WARMONGERS FROM OUR GOVERNMENT. WE WILL DRIVE OUT THE GLOBALISTS. WE WILL CAST OUT THE COMMUNISTS, MARXISTS, FASCISTS. WE WILL THROW OFF THE SICK POLITICAL CLASS THAT HATES OUR COUNTRY.”

In response to a question from Keilar about Trump’s intentions for a potential second term, Haberman noted, “Look, he has been speaking, as have a lot of his supporters, and a lot of folks, on the right, in increasingly apocalyptic terms, describing essentially the country is on fire, describing everything as in tumult, describing everything as terrible, describing everything as the ultimate fight to take the country back, quote-unquote. You are going to hear that a lot.” Haberman also highlighted Trump’s consistent assertion that he is the agent of retribution, planning to go after President Biden and his family while radically changing the federal government and challenging established norms.

As the nation looks towards the 2024 election, the rhetoric emanating from Trump’s camp suggests a volatile and transformative agenda, intertwining policy objectives with a deeply personal narrative of retribution and change.
