Ex-White House lawyer Ty Cobb is optimistic about Donald Trump’s chances at the U.S. Supreme Court in a potential appeal concerning his exclusion from Colorado’s ballot. Cobb anticipates a unanimous 9-0 ruling in Trump’s favor, citing the clarity of the law and the case’s potential for a swift resolution.

Cobb’s confidence stems from the Colorado Supreme Court’s recent decision, which hinged on Trump’s alleged role in the January 6 Capitol attack. Despite the 4-3 majority decision against Trump based on the 14th Amendment’s insurrection clause, Cobb believes the Supreme Court will see things differently.

The crux of the matter, according to Cobb, revolves around whether Trump qualifies as an officer of the United States under the 14th Amendment. He pointed to Chief Justice John Roberts’ prior statement and various Supreme Court rulings that exclude the president and vice president from this definition.

Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, has confirmed their intention to appeal the Colorado decision to the U.S. Supreme Court, where a conservative majority and three justices nominated by Trump could influence the outcome.

Cobb remains confident in the Supreme Court’s ability to expedite the case, emphasizing their awareness of the high stakes and responsibility involved. The Supreme Court, though, will not hesitate to move quickly on this; they know what the stakes are. They know what their responsibility is, stated Cobb.
