In a fiery statement at the recent Rod of Iron Freedom Festival, former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn warned that if Donald Trump is reelected, the “gates of hell” would be unleashed upon their political opponents. This bold declaration, met with applause from the festival audience, underscores Flynn’s call for significant “accountability” in government, vowing that a Trump victory would trigger a renewed focus on confronting political adversaries.
Flynn’s message was sparked by an audience member’s question suggesting that, should Trump win the election, Flynn might be reinstated to lead a military tribunal. The attendee alluded to a drastic vision of “draining the swamp” by imprisoning or even executing certain political figures. While Flynn refrained from endorsing such extreme measures, he embraced the sentiment of holding officials accountable, asserting that today’s government leaders are “serving themselves” rather than the American people.
Reflecting on the Founding Fathers, Flynn reminded his audience that courage and accountability are core American values. “Our founders… were willing to give up everything, including their lives,” he remarked. According to Flynn, current officials lack this same sense of responsibility, making the need for accountability more pressing than ever.
Despite his measured tone in responding to the audience member, Flynn’s comments hinted at intense action following a Trump win. Flynn emphasized the importance of “winning first” in the election, after which he claimed, “the gates of hell… will be unleashed.”
Once a key figure in Trump’s administration, Flynn served only 22 days as NSA adviser before resigning in 2017 amid controversy. He was later convicted of lying to the FBI about Trump’s interactions with Russian nationals but was pardoned by Trump in 2020. Now, Flynn’s remarks illustrate his ongoing loyalty to Trump and a vision for transformative action if the former president returns to office.
