Donald Trump has ignited a firestorm of controversy once again by posting the address of a property owned by New York Attorney General Letitia James. This marks the second time he has publicly shared the state official’s personal information, leading to widespread outrage online.
Trump took to his Truth Social account to amplify a blog post titled “AG Letitia James’ Building Permits Raise Serious Questions.” The article, originally published by the Meidas Touch Network, scrutinized the number of units at a property owned by James and accused her of administrative misconduct related to permit filings. Crucially, the post included documents revealing the home’s exact address, sparking immediate backlash.
This is not the first time Trump has put James in the crosshairs of his followers. Back in October 2023, he shared a post from far-right activist Laura Loomer that also contained James’ home address. That incident raised questions about whether he had violated a gag order imposed by Judge Arthur Engoron, who was overseeing the high-profile fraud case against him. The order specifically barred Trump from publicly commenting on court staffers after he had made baseless attacks on Engoron’s law clerk. However, since James was not part of the judge’s staff, Trump technically remained in the clear.
James played a pivotal role in the lawsuit that found Trump guilty of fraudulently inflating his net worth and the value of his assets to advance his business interests. The case led to a massive financial penalty, further fueling Trump’s animosity toward the attorney general. He has repeatedly labeled the lawsuit a “political witch hunt” and vowed retribution against his adversaries if he returns to the White House.
James, however, has made it clear that she will push back against any retaliatory measures Trump might attempt, including potential cuts to federal funding for New York.
Trump’s latest post immediately drew fierce criticism across social media. Many users accused him of intimidation tactics, warning that such actions could incite real-world violence.
“Posting the private information of an attorney general prosecuting you is not a legal defense, it’s intimidation, plain and simple,” one X user stated bluntly.
Another user called Trump’s actions “disgusting,” while others went even further, branding him a “stochastic terrorist.” The term refers to a pattern in which ideologically driven hate speech fuels unpredictable violent attacks against targeted individuals.
“He’s basically ordering a hit and the crazies know it,” one outraged commenter wrote.
As the controversy rages on, Trump’s escalating attacks on James raise serious concerns about the potential consequences of his rhetoric and whether it could incite real-world violence.
