Rudy Giuliani, the former personal attorney for ex-President Donald Trump, remains resolute in his defense of the actions that have resulted in his legal troubles and indictment. Despite grappling with financial difficulties and an array of legal challenges, Giuliani expressed pride in his efforts to contest the 2020 election outcome and support Trump.
During his “America’s Mayor Live” show on Twitter/X, Giuliani declared without reservations, “I’d do it all over again. Every step.” In the face of mounting legal issues, Giuliani emphasized his belief that he served his country and followed a higher calling, stating, “If I can be happy with myself that day that I did what God wanted me to do and served my country — I’m a happy man. I say to myself ‘My father would be proud of me.'”
Since Trump’s defeat in the 2020 election, Giuliani has encountered various legal challenges. He faces charges of racketeering in Georgia state criminal court, accused of undermining election results. Additionally, he confronts a defamation lawsuit from two voting machine manufacturers, resulting in a $146 million damages order for disparaging Georgia election workers. In response to these setbacks, Giuliani filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Despite these obstacles, Giuliani remains unwavering in his convictions. He continues to question the legitimacy of President Biden’s election, vehemently asserting, “Do I believe [Trump] was legitimately elected? Like hell I do! And you destroyed my life because of that because I had that belief. That sincere belief.”
Arguing that, as a loyal lawyer, he was duty-bound to represent his client, Giuliani expressed frustration at being singled out for performing his duties, contrasting it with the perceived lack of consequences for those defending terrorists and engaging in morally questionable actions.
Giuliani, who previously achieved recognition for bringing corrupt politicians, Nazis, terrorists, Wall Street executives, and Mafia members to justice, now finds himself on the other side of the legal system. He views the prosecutors as biased and considers the Attorney General a disgrace to the Justice Department.
Vowing to stay on the offensive against President Biden, Giuliani pledged to use all available means to remove him from the White House, accusing Biden of “stinking up the White House” and “disgracing” the country.
As Giuliani steadfastly stands by his actions, preparing for upcoming legal battles, he continues to be a divisive figure in American politics. While some see him as a loyal ally defending his client’s interests, others view his actions as undermining democratic norms and institutions. The outcome of the legal proceedings against Giuliani will undoubtedly shape his legacy and contribute to the ongoing debates surrounding the 2020 election.
