Former President Donald Trump appeared to make a slip of the tongue when he encouraged viewers to take a stand against tyrants who back the MAGA movement.
In a video statement shared on Tuesday, Trump said, This is your chance to take a stand against tyrants that support the one and only movement that can save our country and make America great again.
This apparent blunder was quickly seized upon by his critics on social media.
One user quipped, So he’s telling us to vote against him. Sounds good!
Another person commented, Boy, his dementia is so off the charts that he is accidentally saying the right things.
Yet another user said, Love it when the truth slips out.
Some of Trump’s supporters argued that he did not misspeak and actually said and support instead of that support.
One user suggested, Either he said this OR he said ‘and’ but he slurred the word so badly because he’s senile and incoherent.
The series of video statements posted on Truth Social on Tuesday covered a variety of topics. Trump reiterated his claims that the 2020 election was rigged and criticized the Biden administration for not addressing alleged election irregularities. He also mentioned a decrease in readership for the New York Post, attributing it to the paper going against him. Trump went on to claim that President Joe Biden’s handling of the Southern border had allowed a large number of terrorists to enter the U.S. He also touted his strong position in primary polls, with a significant lead over his top opponent, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
According to recent national polling averages from RealClearPolitics, Trump remains the leading Republican presidential candidate by a considerable margin. He holds an average lead of over 46 points over DeSantis and enjoys 59% support among primary voters. Polls depicting a hypothetical matchup between Trump and Biden are more competitive, with an average showing Trump leading Biden by less than one point in recent national polls.
