Former senior adviser to Donald Trump and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has thrown his support behind the former president’s potential run in the 2024 election. Kushner played a significant role in the Trump administration, with a specific focus on Middle East policy and working toward a peace agreement between Palestine and Israel. In a recent interview with podcaster Lex Fridman, he emphasized what he sees as the positive impact of Trump’s foreign policy.

“I do think that the job [Trump] did as a foreign policy president was tremendous. Now, more and more people are beginning to recognize that,” Kushner stated during the podcast.

Kushner also addressed the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, particularly the recent escalation between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, which resulted in significant casualties. He expressed concerns about the current administration’s leadership under President Biden and its handling of global crises.

Now, under President Biden, this is the second war that’s broken out in the world, and when you have weak leadership, the world becomes a less safe place,” Kushner noted. He expressed hope that Trump would be reelected and work towards restoring peace, stability, and prosperity globally.

Kushner pointed out that the Trump administration’s foreign policy goals aimed to position the Middle East as a vital economic and diplomatic region for the United States. He believed that the region had significant potential but had been hindered by previous policies, leadership, and objectives. He also mentioned that when Trump left office in 2021, the Middle East was heading in a positive direction, and with the right actions, it could continue on that trajectory.

During the interview, Kushner, who is Jewish, expressed his deep concern and heartbreak over the violence in Israel and Gaza. He likened the attacks by Hamas to the 9/11 terror attacks in the United States and called for global support for Israel during the ongoing conflict. The United States and its Western allies have been among the countries showing strong support for Israel in response to the attacks.

Kushner concluded by expressing his hope that the current crisis in the Middle East could be navigated successfully, with a focus on eliminating threats from terrorist organizations, fostering cooperation among regional leaders, and creating conditions for prosperity and well-being in the region.
