In a recent segment, Jimmy Kimmel took aim at Donald Trump’s latest publicity stunt involving a garbage truck. The former president dressed up in an orange vest and posed for photos, attempting to turn a gaffe from Joe Biden—who referred to Trump supporters as “garbage”—into a moment of humor. Kimmel, however, found the whole affair far from impressive.

During his Wednesday monologue, Kimmel quipped, “He went out and rented a garbage truck and put his name on the side. Shouldn’t they have put him in the back of that? The garbage goes in the back of the truck.” His remarks highlighted the absurdity of Trump’s attempt to seize the moment, further mocking the choice of attire by saying, “It really brings out the orange in his face, I have to say.”

Kimmel also criticized the right-wing response to Biden’s comments, pointing out the overreactions from Trump supporters. He jokingly suggested, “Joe Biden should drop out of this race immediately,” while also noting Trump’s frequent references to America as a “garbage can.”

The late-night host suggested that Trump’s focus on Biden’s “garbage” remark was a distraction from a more pressing issue. This issue arose from comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s controversial joke at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally, where he called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.” Kimmel emphasized that this was a serious problem for Trump, especially given the backlash from the Latino community.

Stars like Bad Bunny, J-Lo, and Ricky Martin have publicly supported Kamala Harris, further intensifying the pressure on Trump. Instead of offering an apology—a rare occurrence for him—Trump opted to speak with Sean Hannity, a figure known for his questionable views on race. Kimmel played a clip of Trump claiming, “I’ve done more for Puerto Rico than any president I think that’s ever been president … Every time I go outside, I see somebody from Puerto Rico, they give me a hug and a kiss.”

Kimmel humorously countered this claim, saying, “Yes, that definitely happens every time he goes outside.” He also referenced Trump’s controversial handling of Hurricane Maria in 2017, quipping, “He’s got a point: No president in history has thrown more rolls of paper towels at the Puerto Rican people than Donald Trump.”
