Season two of the highly-anticipated Frasier revival is bringing a family touch, as Kelsey Grammer has cast his daughter, Greer Grammer, in a significant role. The 69-year-old actor, who revived his iconic character Dr. Frasier Crane for Paramount+, is set to add a new dynamic with this personal casting choice.
A Family Affair
Kelsey Grammer, renowned for his role in the original Frasier series, is ensuring the new season continues to surprise and delight fans. The announcement of Greer Grammer joining the cast follows the reveal that Peri Gilpin, who portrayed Roz Doyle in the original series, will also return as a recurring guest star.

In the upcoming episodes, Gilpin’s character will be accompanied by her on-screen daughter, Alice, played by Greer.
Who is Greer Grammer’s Character?
According to Variety, Greer will portray Alice, now in her late twenties. Described as friendly and outgoing, Alice has inherited some of her mother Roz’s free-spirited nature. She has moved to Providence to study architecture and is eager to reconnect with Frasier’s son, Freddy, potentially complicating his romantic endeavors.

Behind the Scenes
Production for the new season is already underway, with James Burrows directing the first two episodes. However, the premiere date for the second season remains unconfirmed. Kelsey Grammer introduced Greer with his ex-partner Barrie Buckner and also shares other children from previous relationships and his current marriage to Kayte Walsh.
Family in the Spotlight
Many of Kelsey Grammer’s children have followed in his acting footsteps. His daughter Spencer Grammer, known for her work on Rick and Morty, also shared the screen with her father in Lifetime’s The Last Days of Christmas Eve in 2022. Despite the challenges of growing up with a famous parent, Kelsey expressed his joy that his children are drawn to the entertainment industry.

Speaking to Variety, he shared, “My children – my young children, older children – the happiest I ever am is if they’re all in the same room together. My work has allowed me to be able to do that. I’ve been given this great experience. It’s been painful and challenging and hard and tragic – all those things. But boy, it’s a great life. And I want to pass that on to them.”
Embracing the Legacy
Kelsey Grammer reflected on the mixed blessings of having a famous last name, acknowledging the unique pressures it can bring. He emphasized that he never pushed his children into the industry but is thrilled they have chosen to pursue it. “To think that all my kids, at least the ones that have a hand in the air, are ready to take responsibility for their lives, are all drawn to this industry,” he said. “I never wanted to force them into the industry or intrude too much into their process. Because it’s a bit of a mixed blessing to have my last name.”

With this exciting new addition, Frasier fans can look forward to a season filled with familiar faces and fresh storylines, promising to continue the legacy of the beloved show while introducing a new generation of characters.
