Lara Trump, known for her political ventures and ties to the Trump family, briefly dipped her toes into the music industry with a couple of singles. But what’s the story behind her musical endeavors?
Her latest single, “Anything Is Possible,” has stirred some attention, not necessarily for its musical prowess but for its curious lyrics. The song features a plethora of well-worn aphorisms, including lines like “Don’t think, just jump,” “Have faith,” and “There’s darkness before the dawn.”
However, it’s the song’s opening lines that have raised eyebrows: “Talking to that little girl riding on the Pegasus, tell her everything’s going to be all right/ Even when it’s getting hard in this hurricane life, you still gotta spread your wings and fly.”
The metaphorical use of a mythological creature like Pegasus coupled with references to hurricanes has left many scratching their heads. Some see it as an attempt to offer inspiration, while others find it rather perplexing.
While Lara Trump’s foray into music might seem like a diversion from her political ambitions, the style of her single fits snugly into a right-wing, country-esque mold. Country music has long been associated with American conservatism, and Lara Trump’s song seems to position her within this conservative genre.
In response to Lara Trump’s single, the Democratic National Committee unveiled a song titled “Party’s Falling Down,” which takes a dig at Lara Trump and the Republican Party.
However, Lara Trump’s musical aspirations seem to have taken a back seat for now. She announced that her immediate focus will be on her new role at the Republican National Committee. But she hinted that she may return to music in the future, stating, “I look forward to a time when I can jump back into this space … unfortunately all my fans in the liberal media will have to wait a little longer.”
Seemingly discarding the wise-mentor persona she adopted for her single, Lara Trump has shifted her focus, promising vengeance against her father-in-law’s adversaries, stating, “It’s four years of scorched earth when Donald Trump retakes the White House.”
