LeBron James and his son, Bronny James, are facing legal challenges after being sued over their alleged involvement in a car crash that occurred in 2022. This lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County and made headlines just hours before the duo took the court together for the first time during the Los Angeles Lakers’ season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ Sports, the lawsuit was initiated by plaintiffs April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen. They claim that on November 13, 2022, while driving on a highway in Littlerock, California, their vehicle was struck by the Jameses’ car. The plaintiffs allege that they suffered injuries requiring ongoing medical treatment. Furthermore, they assert that their vehicle was damaged and has depreciated in value due to the incident.

Lopez and McGillen are seeking unspecified damages from LeBron and Bronny James for the alleged accident. As of now, the James family has not publicly commented on the lawsuit.
Despite the looming legal matter, the Jameses had a significant moment on the basketball court. In a thrilling game, the Lakers secured a 110-103 victory over the Timberwolves, with both LeBron and Bronny playing together for several minutes. After the game, LeBron took to Instagram to express his emotions, stating he would “NEVER FORGET THAT MOMENT FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.”
