A recent chat with Mary Trump, attorney and podcaster Joe Gallina expressed his belief that former President Donald Trump might find himself facing jail time if the federal court reinstates speech restrictions in his election subversion case.
Following Monday’s federal appeals court hearing on the gag order in Trump’s 2020 election challenge, Gallina speculated that Trump’s inability to adhere to speech restrictions could lead to serious consequences.
U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan initially imposed the gag order in October, preventing Trump from publicly criticizing those involved in the case. Despite a brief lift, the order was reinstated when Trump’s comments were deemed attempts to influence testimony.

With the trial set for March 2024, Trump’s political future remains uncertain. If convicted on the four charges, he could potentially face up to 20 years in prison for each count, adding a new layer of complexity to the 2024 political landscape.
