Trenton Ivy, a 31-year-old Missouri man, has been charged with first-degree murder after confessing to the killing of his ex-girlfriend, Marquisha Williams, 29, and the mother of his four children. Williams had been missing for a week, prompting a search that culminated in Ivy’s arrest in Racine, Wisconsin.
The St. Louis County Police Department revealed that Ivy was apprehended on Friday while driving the victim’s car, which contained incriminating evidence, including traces of blood. The arrest followed Williams’ family reporting her disappearance on December 20, when she failed to show up at her workplace.
According to law enforcement officials, the last known whereabouts of Williams and Ivy were in north St. Louis, where they dropped off their four children at different locations before she was expected at work. Ivy, a resident of St. Louis, had initially been detained on December 22 in Racine for unrelated charges, including the use of a dangerous weapon, resisting arrest, and fleeing from an officer.
During an interview with Racine police detectives, Ivy confessed to the murder, disclosing that a physical altercation in St. Louis had resulted in Williams’ death. He further admitted to disposing of her body at an undisclosed location. Ivy is currently held without bond in Wisconsin, awaiting extradition to St. Louis, where he faces one count of first-degree murder.
Williams’ family expressed profound grief at the news of her tragic demise. Sandy Bagley, Williams’ aunt, described her niece as a loving mother and a kind person who cherished her children and looked forward to celebrating Christmas with them.
The family revealed that Williams and Ivy had separated earlier in the year, attempting to co-parent their children. Recent developments included Williams starting a new relationship, potentially causing distress for Ivy. The grieving family expressed hope that Ivy would cooperate with authorities, revealing the location where he disposed of Williams’ remains.
“We want to bring her home and give her a proper burial,” Bagley asserted. “We want justice for Marquisha and her kids,” she added, underscoring the family’s determination to find closure in the face of this heartbreaking tragedy.
