Marla Maples, former wife of Donald Trump, came to his defense after Vice President Kamala Harris made a controversial comparison linking Trump to Adolf Hitler. This incident unfolded on Friday following Harris’s remarks during a CNN town hall, where she labeled Trump a “fascist.”
Recent claims from The Atlantic suggested that Trump had expressed admiration for Hitler, noting that he wished his generals were as loyal as Hitler’s. John Kelly, Trump’s former chief of staff, also claimed Trump had mentioned that Hitler had accomplished some “good things.” Trump, however, has denied these allegations.
During the town hall, Harris stated that Trump seeks “unchecked power” and desires a military that is loyal to him rather than the Constitution. She warned that if he were re-elected, there would be no one to restrain his worst impulses.
On social media, Harris shared her thoughts:
“Donald Trump is out for unchecked power. He wants a military like Adolf Hitler had, who will be loyal to him, not our Constitution. He is unhinged, unstable, and given a second term, there would be no one to stop him from pursuing his worst impulses.”
In response to Harris’s remarks, conservative commentator Dave Rubin shared a screenshot of her comments, questioning the impact of such statements, while Elon Musk highlighted concerns about incitement to violence against Trump.
Amid the unfolding drama, Maples took to social media to defend her ex-husband, emphasizing that he is the father of their daughter, Tiffany Trump. She expressed her discontent with the negative portrayals of Trump, stating:
“This is my daughter’s father and they are spreading such horrific lies about him & they keep getting worse. Our daughter Tiffany grew up learning not only to pray as a Christian but also in Hebrew & Aramaic (Christ’s language). Please vote for those who give their heart and risk their lives for all Americans.”
