Martha Stewart recently stirred the pot during an appearance on Bilt Rewards’ “Rent Free” game show, where she shared her candid thoughts on her neighbor, Ryan Reynolds. Known for his comedic roles, Reynolds seems to be quite different when the cameras aren’t rolling, according to Stewart.
During her conversation with Ankur Jain, the CEO and founder of Bilt, Stewart discussed which celebrities are fun to be around. While she expressed confidence that her close friend Snoop Dogg would be on that list, she had a different opinion about Reynolds.
Stewart remarked, “He’s probably on the list just ‘cause he covers himself up in his movies and you don’t see his face — Ryan Reynolds, is he one of those?” This led to her declaring, “He’s not so funny in real life. No, he’s not so funny. He’s very serious.”
When asked whom she would rather hang out with, Stewart suggested Brad Pitt and George Clooney, noting, “I’d like to hang out with those guys.” While she acknowledged that Taylor Swift is lovely, Stewart clarified that she was focusing on male celebrities for her list. After listing Snoop Dogg and putting Swift at the top, she decided to replace Reynolds with Clooney, saying, “George is really nice to hang out with.”
The conversation took a humorous turn when Jain expressed surprise at Stewart’s view of Reynolds. However, she did give him some credit, saying, “He’s a good actor. He can act funny, but he isn’t funny. Maybe he can get to be funny again. I’m going to get in trouble; he’s my neighbor.”
Martha Stewart made the appearance not just to share opinions but also to promote her new cookbook, Martha: The Cookbook: 100 Favorite Recipes, with Lessons and Stories from My Kitchen, released on October 22. Additionally, she highlighted her recent Netflix documentary, Martha, directed by R.J. Cutler, which showcases her remarkable life story.
In her own words, Stewart hopes viewers take away valuable life lessons from the documentary. “I just hope that everyone gets a few life lessons from the film and understands what’s been going on,” she told PEOPLE at the premiere in New York.
