Ivanka Trump’s recent attempt to evade testifying in her father Donald Trump’s civil fraud trial faced sharp criticism from her cousin Mary Trump, who accused her of displaying “breathtaking entitlement.” MSNBC’s Mehdi Hasan joined the critique, dismissing Ivanka’s excuse of “undue hardship” due to disrupting her children’s school routine as a “pretty amazing excuse.” Mary Trump, a vocal critic of her uncle, weighed in, highlighting the privileged lifestyle of Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, pointing out their access to ample help for childcare.
“It just speaks to the breathtaking entitlement of these people that they don’t even think that other people are going to look at their past behavior to realize that they leave their kids home all the time,” Mary Trump told Hasan, emphasizing that Ivanka has a husband perfectly capable of taking care of their children.
Mary Trump also examined the tactics employed by Trump’s legal team in the courtroom. She found their behavior “interesting,” noting that they appeared to be provoking Judge Arthur Engoron, who oversees New York Attorney General Letitia James’ $250 million lawsuit against Donald Trump and his business for allegedly overvaluing assets. Engoron recently expanded a gag order on Trump, which now includes silencing his legal team from commenting on courtroom staff, prosecutors, or witnesses.
“I am wondering if they actually have forgotten that the judge is not Donald’s base,” Mary Trump remarked. “He cannot be spun. He is going to be looking at the facts and evidence.”
