Recent legal showdown saw MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell embroiled in a fiery confrontation with a Dominion lawyer during a deposition related to Dominion Voting Systems’ defamation lawsuit. Clips from this March deposition have garnered significant attention, particularly one where Lindell reacted strongly to a snarky comment about “lumpy pillows.”
These clips were made public online after lawyers representing Dr. Eric Coomer, Dominion’s Director of Product Strategy and Security, filed a motion to compel Lindell’s deposition testimony in court. Dr. Coomer has also initiated a lawsuit against Newsmax, citing defamation for their questioning of the integrity of Dominion voting machines in the aftermath of the 2020 election.
During the deposition, a Dominion lawyer remarked, “Okay, and I’m not asking about the lumpy pillow calls,” referring to customer service inquiries related to Lindell’s MyPillow products. In response, Lindell, visibly frustrated, swiftly retorted, “No, they’re not lumpy pillows, that’s not what they call on.” He went on to explain how his company’s customer service operates, adding, “When you say lumpy pillows, now you’re an aole. You got that? You’re an aole is what you are!”
The exchange escalated as Lindell addressed Coomer’s lawyer, stating, “No, he’s an a***ole! He’s an ambulance-chasing lawyer, so don’t start with me. I got all day.” Lindell asserted his willingness to take as much time as needed and criticized the lawyer as a “frivolous lawyer.”
The Dominion lawyer’s filing, which followed the deposition, described the previous deposition in Minneapolis on August 23, 2023. It ended abruptly after Lindell left the witness chair during an unscheduled break while making disparaging comments. The filing characterized Lindell as “vulgar, threatening, loud, [and] disrespectful.”

In response to Lindell’s behavior, Dr. Coomer’s legal team is seeking an order to compel Lindell to appear before the Court or the Magistrate Judge in Denver, Colorado. They aim to maintain decorum during a rescheduled deposition and are also pursuing attorney fees and expenses associated with Lindell’s alleged abuse of the discovery process.
This high-profile clash between Mike Lindell and Dominion’s legal representatives underscores the intensity surrounding legal battles involving allegations of defamation and election-related issues. The outcome of these legal proceedings will continue to attract significant attention.
