Concern over Donald Trump’s health is growing after yet another mysterious mark was spotted on his hand—this time during a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and Irish leader Micheál Martin. The recurring mark, seen for the third time, has sparked fresh speculation online, with social media users questioning what’s really happening behind the scenes.
Earlier this year, during Trump’s meeting with Macron on the third anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, keen-eyed observers noticed what appeared to be a dark bruise on the former president’s right hand. As images from the event circulated, speculation ran wild.
One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote: “Scrolling Getty and couldn’t help but notice this photo of a huge bruise on Trump’s hand today.”

Another added: “Some photos over the last few months show bruising on Trump’s hand… Always seems to be on the same hand.”
A third chimed in: “Trump has a massive bruise on the back of his right hand. How did he get that?”
The intrigue only deepened when some suggested the mark had been concealed with cosmetic products. A Getty Images photo was even labeled as featuring a hand “covered in make-up.”
At the time, Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, downplayed the concern, attributing the bruising to his rigorous schedule. “President Trump is a man of the people and meets more Americans and shakes their hands daily than any other president in history. His commitment is unwavering,” she stated.

However, with the mark reappearing this week during a meeting with Micheál Martin, online speculation has reignited. Could this be a sign of an underlying health issue, or is there another explanation?
Dr. Anatalia Moore, a skin expert, weighed in on the situation, attributing the recurring mark to Trump’s age. “For many patients in their 70s, particularly those who are not what we call a ‘fit 70,’ even minor impacts—like knocking against a doorframe—can cause significant bruising,” she explained. “As we age, our healing process slows down, leading to larger bruises that take longer to fade.”
According to Dr. Moore, bruises initially appear dark purple or red, then transition to green and yellow as they heal. Given Trump’s age, it wouldn’t be unusual for him to experience prolonged healing times for such marks.
Despite the expert explanation, online chatter remains relentless. Is this simply an innocent case of aging skin, or is there something more the public isn’t being told?
