Beschloss, speaking to MSNBC’s Katie Phang, emphasized the importance of taking Trump at face value, contrasting it with the mistaken belief after the 2016 election that Trump’s campaign rhetoric was mere bluster. Beschloss cautioned against underestimating Trump’s intentions, emphasizing that he has explicitly stated his intention to utilize the American military to quell domestic opposition, a move characteristic of authoritarians and fascists.
