Former WWE star Ronda Rousey has revealed an exciting new chapter in her life. During a surprising announcement at the San Diego Comic-Con, Rousey shared that she and her husband, Travis Browne, are expecting their second child. This exciting news was first reported by People.
The announcement came as Rousey, 37, discussed her debut graphic novel, Expecting the Unexpected, which launched on Kickstarter on the same day. The event, held at the San Diego International Comic-Con, was a double celebration for the former UFC champion.
Rousey and Browne, 42, tied the knot in August 2017 in Hawaii. Their first child, a daughter named La’akea Makalapuaokalanip, was born in September 2021. Rousey has previously praised La’akea for her toughness, revealing that the little girl is already showing signs of resilience and grit.
“She doesn’t respond to pain so much,” Rousey shared with People in June 2023. “She just fell and scraped her knee today and she didn’t even cry. She just kind of grunts it out!”
Reflecting on motherhood, Rousey has spoken about how it has positively impacted her mental health. She noted that her focus on La’akea has led to greater happiness and self-care. “I’m so much happier that I’m no longer ruminating over myself all day,” Rousey said. “I’m always thinking about her and focused on her. It’s mentally made me more healthy and made me stop beating myself up so much because I’m so concerned with taking care of her.”
With this new addition to their family on the way, Rousey and Browne are preparing for another joyful chapter in their lives.
