Donald Trump taking his talking points straight from Vladimir Putin? According to Russian state media, the former U.S. president’s stance on Ukraine is now in “total alignment” with the Kremlin’s messaging.
In recent weeks, Trump has intensified his criticism of Ukraine, going so far as to repeat a debunked Russian claim that Kyiv was the aggressor in its conflict with Moscow. And if you ask Russian television presenter Vladimir Soloviov, that’s no accident.
During a segment on Russia-1, Soloviov made a striking observation: Trump’s rhetoric shifted dramatically after his recent conversation with Putin. “The phrases he is saying are so deep and so correct,” Soloviov said on air. “They are in total alignment with the way we see things.”
This comes just as CNN’s Jake Tapper sounded the alarm over Trump’s evolving stance. On Sunday’s episode of “State of the Union,” Tapper confronted Trump ally Steve Witkoff about the eerie similarities between Trump’s words and Kremlin propaganda.
Trump Parrots Putin’s Playbook
In a series of statements this week, Trump echoed key Putin narratives, labeling Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a “dictator” and insisting that the war “never would have happened” if he were still in office. Meanwhile, U.S. and Russian officials are reportedly working on a peace deal—without Ukraine at the table.
According to sources, Ukraine has already rejected initial proposals that would have forced it to hand over half of its rare earth mineral and oil revenue to the U.S.—without any guarantees of military or security support. But The New York Times reports that Kyiv is now being pressured into considering an even tougher deal, one that demands even more of its natural resources.
As tensions escalate, Washington and Moscow are rumored to be planning a high-stakes Trump-Putin summit. With Ukraine’s future hanging in the balance, all eyes are on the former president and his increasingly cozy relationship with the Kremlin.
