Recent interview with The New York Times, Scarlett Johansson, known for her role as Black Widow in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), shed some light on a secretive aspect of her life: the private group chat with her fellow “Avengers” stars. Johansson, 39, humorously hinted at the juicy and confidential exchanges that take place within their chat, revealing that it is as clandestine as a S.H.I.E.L.D. mission.
When asked about the group chat, Johansson confirmed its existence but expressed hope that its content remains undisclosed. “Yes, that’s true. But hopefully, nobody will ever read it,” Johansson quipped. She further elaborated, “Everything goes on in there. I mean, really. If somebody’s gotten terrible reviews, that could be something that comes up.”
The chat includes the original six Avengers: Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., Jeremy Renner, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, and Johansson herself. These actors starred together in four Avengers films between 2012 and 2019 and have since ventured into their own solo projects, with Johansson leading her own film, “Black Widow,” in 2021.
Johansson described the group as “like a family,” highlighting the deep bond formed over a decade of shared experiences. She added, “We’ve been through an incredible experience over a decade plus of time. It was life-changing for all of us.”
The group chat is not just about serious discussions. Johansson noted that responses come quickly, reflecting the close-knit nature of the team. “If you text the chain, you can guarantee that within a few minutes, most people will respond, which is great,” she said.
Johansson’s comments follow a revelation from Chris Hemsworth in November 2022. On “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Hemsworth shared that the chat was buzzing with playful banter after Chris Evans was named People’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” Hemsworth recalled teasing Evans about his magazine cover pose, with Downey Jr. joking about an arrest and Renner adding some “filthy” remarks.
The revelations from Johansson and Hemsworth offer a rare glimpse into the camaraderie and humor that define the Avengers’ off-screen relationships. While the group chat remains shrouded in secrecy, it’s clear that the Avengers continue to share a bond that extends beyond their cinematic adventures.
