Secret Service is reportedly breathing a sigh of relief after former President Donald Trump revoked security details for Hunter Biden, Ashley Biden, and several Biden grandchildren. According to a new report, many agents are thrilled to be free of the controversial assignment—especially after one agent allegedly faced serious retaliation over an incident involving Hunter Biden’s daughter.
Trump made the announcement on Monday via Truth Social, stating that Hunter Biden had been receiving taxpayer-funded protection for far too long. “There are as many as 18 people on this detail, which is ridiculous!” Trump wrote, adding that Hunter was currently vacationing in South Africa, a location known for human rights concerns. “Effective immediately, Hunter Biden will no longer receive Secret Service protection,” he declared, also revoking coverage for Ashley Biden, who reportedly had 13 agents assigned to her.
While some might feel sympathy for the Bidens losing their security detail, the reality is stark: Secret Service protection beyond a president and their spouse is a privilege, not a right. Yet, according to a bombshell report by RealClearPolitics’ Susan Crabtree, many Secret Service members are ecstatic about the decision, as they had long struggled with staffing issues and what they saw as unnecessary assignments.
One agent’s experience reportedly stands out. According to Crabtree, this agent claims he was seriously retaliated against by top Secret Service officials after refusing to act as an “Uber driver” for one of Hunter Biden’s daughters, Maisy Biden. The incident allegedly took place in August 2021 after a night of partying, when Maisy and her friends requested multiple stops while being driven home. When one of Maisy’s friends demanded a detour, the agent refused, stating that the Secret Service is “not an Uber service.”
According to the lawsuit, Maisy Biden actually apologized for her friend’s behavior. But despite following protocol, the agent claims he was later forced to write a memo about the incident and was pressured to omit any details that might cast Maisy or her friends in a negative light. His lawsuit alleges that high-ranking Secret Service officials retaliated against him as a result.
The Secret Service has responded with a vague statement, stating that “there are multiple outlets for federal employees to raise personnel complaints,” but has refused to comment on the specific allegations. Meanwhile, the Biden family has remained silent on the issue.
