There is no evidence to support the claim that Rep. Jamaal Bowman received money from Hamas. The dispute between Bowman and opponent George Latimer in New York’s 16th Congressional District has escalated, with Bowman’s campaign warning of a defamation lawsuit against Latimer.

David Mitrani, a lawyer representing Bowman’s campaign, issued a stern letter demanding a retraction of the allegation. Mitrani emphasized that the claim is false and highlighted potential legal implications under the Federal Election Campaign Act.

The alleged accusation against Bowman occurred during an event at New Rochelle High School, where Latimer associated Bowman with Hamas while responding to concerns about donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

Latimer’s campaign dismissed the legal threat as a “baseless attack,” doubling down on its position by alleging Bowman’s association with those who support Hamas.

As the legal standoff unfolds, it adds complexity to an already heated Democratic primary race in New York’s 16th Congressional District, raising questions about the use of inflammatory rhetoric in political discourse.
