The trial against former President Donald Trump and his company for alleged fraud kicked off with a bang in a Manhattan courtroom. It got pretty chaotic with accusations of bias and political donations flying around.

In a surprising twist, Trump’s attorney, Christopher Kise, raised concerns about possible bias in the courtroom. Kise’s point was that there might be some political connections among the folks in the court, as reported by Conservative Brief on November 4.

Reports suggested that a court clerk, Allison Greenfield, had made political donations to Democratic candidates. And The New York Times even mentioned that Judge Arthur Engoron was passing notes with Greenfield during the trial.
Kise argued that these interactions gave off a feeling of bias in the trial. Breitbart News also pointed out that Greenfield’s political donations seemed to break the rules that say court officers can’t make too many political contributions.
Kise’s reaction added more tension to the trial. He even mentioned the possibility of requesting a do-over trial, making a big deal about how the court has to be super fair, especially in high-profile cases.
Things got pretty heated as Kise and Engoron debated these allegations. Engoron was worried about people thinking there was bias but said he was keeping things fair.
While Engoron defended his talks with Greenfield, Kise argued that the whole world was watching the trial. He said it was crucial to keep things fair and unbiased, avoiding any hint of bias.
Kise also pointed out that the allegations from the Breitbart report came in on the day of the trial. He hinted that they might ask for a new trial since information about Greenfield’s outside behavior had already come out.
Engoron questioned the credibility of these claims and said he didn’t know about the Breitbart report. He called it absolutely untrue and told people to make up their minds about the news source. He seemed pretty unhappy about all the drama in the courtroom.
The accusations against Greenfield originally came from a 72-page report by a guy named Brock Fredin from Wisconsin. The report said Greenfield had given more money to Democratic candidates and causes than she was supposed to, according to New York court officials.
The tension didn’t stop in the courtroom. Eric Trump, the former president’s son, gave his testimony and called the civil trial a joke and a waste of taxpayer money. He didn’t like what was happening in the courtroom and said it was making people leave New York.

This civil trial is still getting a lot of attention, not just because it’s about the former president, but also because of all the drama in the early stages.
