A Taylor Swift stalker was apprehended in Germany just before one of her scheduled concerts on the Eras Tour, according to reports. The 34-year-old man, who possessed a ticket for the event, was identified and taken into custody at the venue’s entry control point on Wednesday. Police acted after initial investigations raised concerns about potential threats he had made online against Swift and her partner, Travis Kelce.
Authorities reassured fans that neither Swift nor concert attendees were ever in immediate danger. Nevertheless, a court has ordered the man to remain in custody until Saturday.
The concert in Gelsenkirchen, part of Swift’s expansive Eras Tour, attracted a massive crowd of 60,000 enthusiastic fans, known fondly as Swifties, who enjoyed the spectacle in costumes and festive spirits. This event marked one of three shows Swift has planned in Germany, followed by appearances in Hamburg, Munich, and concluding with five nights in London.
During Wednesday’s performance, fans also noticed Kelce, the Kansas City tight end, observing from a suite inside the Veltins-Arena, highlighting his continued support for Swift throughout her tour. Kelce, who has joined Swift at multiple international venues, including Buenos Aires, Sydney, Singapore, Paris, London, Dublin, and Amsterdam, recently expressed excitement about future surprises during the Eras Tour on his “New Heights” podcast.
Swift, who remains a global phenomenon, continues to captivate audiences with her musical prowess and has garnered widespread acclaim for her Eras Tour performances across Europe.
