The second day on the job for Domino’s delivery driver Tommie Charles Anderson III ended in tragedy when he fell victim to a brazen robbery attempt. The incident unfolded on Tuesday, January 10, 2024, leading to Anderson’s untimely death.
West Palm Beach Police Department responded to a distress call around 12:50 p.m. reporting a shooting. Anderson was found with gunshot wounds to the neck and arm. Despite immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries approximately 30 minutes later.
The assailants, identified as Elijsha Wingfield (25), Marcus Williams (29), and Avianna Kerr-Williams (29), were taken into custody after a critical interception by a Florida Highway Patrol trooper. The vehicle they were in, a white Honda, matched the description captured in surveillance footage near the crime scene.
Upon questioning, all three suspects provided similar accounts of the incident. Williams revealed that Wingfield expressed a desire to commit robbery while driving around. Spotting Anderson after a pizza delivery, Wingfield confronted him with a handgun, and Williams, holding an AR-15 rifle for backup, allegedly threatened Anderson.
Despite Anderson seemingly surrendering by raising his hands, Wingfield fired three shots, fatally injuring him. The assailants swiftly fled the scene in their car, driven by Kerr-Williams.
A startling revelation during the investigation exposed Wingfield’s financial desperation as a motive for the robbery. He lamented his actions, acknowledging the severe consequences.
The three suspects now face first-degree murder charges and are currently detained at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond.
The impact of this senseless act reverberates beyond the legal proceedings, deeply affecting the heartbroken family of Tommie Charles Anderson III. Anderson, a hardworking individual supporting his family with two jobs, leaves behind two children aged 6 and 13.
As the legal process unfolds, the community mourns the loss of a promising life, questioning how a routine pizza delivery could turn so tragically fatal.
