In a fervent interview on “Fox & Friends” from the border town of Eagle Pass, Texas, rancher Wayne King has unapologetically branded President Biden and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas as “traitors,” alleging betrayal over their handling of the ongoing border crisis. The fiery accusations were reported by Fox News on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.
King, known for his outspoken stance, did not mince words as he accused Mayorkas of lying under oath and failing to secure the border, holding the entire administration accountable for what he perceives as a breach of trust.
“He’s an absolute traitor. He lies under oath. He says that the border is secure. It’s not. He took an oath to protect us, and he’s not doing it. The whole administration is the same way. Even our president, the President of the United States, I call him a traitor too,” declared King, emphasizing his vehement condemnation of the Biden administration’s approach to border security.
King contends that Texas Governor Abbott’s efforts to protect the state are being obstructed by the federal government, a move he deems as nothing short of “treason.” Expressing frustration at the damage caused to his property and others, King attributes it to the continuous influx of migrants.
He suggests that the administration’s motivation behind these policies might be to secure votes, pointing out the tangible impact with “trash and debris” left in the aftermath of the surging border crisis.
During his visit to the border, King captured footage of an illegal immigrant crossing razor wire from Honduras, underscoring the urgency and complexity of the situation.
The discontent and frustration extend beyond the border region, with state attorneys general from the heartland gearing up to testify at the first impeachment hearing of DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The hearing, titled “Havoc in the Heartland: How Secretary Mayorkas’ Failed Leadership Has Impacted the States,” is set to feature testimony from Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen, Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond, and Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey.
These attorneys general are expected to illuminate the far-reaching impacts of the migrant crisis on their respective states, despite being geographically distant from the border. They will also detail the legal challenges launched against the Biden administration’s policies, emphasizing their belief that Mayorkas is failing to enforce the law effectively.
The hearing marks the culmination of a year-long investigation by the House Homeland Security Committee into the handling of the nearly three-year migrant crisis. With border numbers reaching a new record of over 302,000 migrant encounters in December, Chairman Mark Green underscores the nationwide consequences of Mayorkas’ “unprecedented and intentional border crisis.”
“The chaos and devastation at the border and in our communities are the result of Alejandro Mayorkas’ failure to fulfill his oath as secretary of Homeland Security. His primary responsibility is to secure the homeland—and he has failed,” declared Chairman Green in a statement to Fox News Digital.
