They Must Go!’ Sen. Schiff Demands Top Trump Allies Resign Amid Scandal

Sen. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is calling for a political reckoning after top officials in the Trump administration were caught recklessly discussing highly classified war plans in a private group chat. The California Democrat didn’t hold back, demanding that those responsible either resign immediately—or be fired by President Donald Trump himself.

“Beyond negligent, they’re just arrogant and feel they can do whatever they want,” Schiff declared in an explosive interview with the MeidasTouch Network. “There’s no accountability.”

The stunning breach reportedly began when National Security Adviser Michael Waltz accidentally added Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, to a Signal group chat where some of the administration’s most powerful figures were casually discussing top-secret intelligence. The classified topics included U.S. military operations in Yemen and other highly sensitive matters.

The chat, which contained a total of 18 members, included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and billionaire Steve Witkoff—Trump’s envoy to Ukraine and the Middle East.

“None of them apparently bothered to say, ‘Hey, folks, we shouldn’t be talking about this in a commercial chat on a commercial app,’” Schiff remarked. “This is the most negligent handling of highly sensitive information.”

Even more alarming, Schiff suggested this wasn’t an isolated incident but part of a disturbing pattern. If no one in the chat flagged the security risk, he argued, it likely means these officials have been using the app to discuss classified intelligence before.

Schiff took direct aim at Hegseth, accusing him of trying to shift blame onto Goldberg rather than taking responsibility. “This ought to be his resignation,” he asserted.

And the list of names didn’t stop there. Schiff also called out Tulsi Gabbard, saying, “If she can’t be trusted to know better with national security information, she can’t be trusted with the nation’s secrets.”

He made it clear that multiple officials should either step down or be removed from their positions. “They should be fired or they should quit,” he demanded.

As the fallout continues, pressure is mounting on the administration to respond. Will heads roll over this classified chat scandal? Or will the Trump team brush off the controversy and move on?
