As the 2024 election approaches, former President Donald Trump has intensified his accusations of voter fraud in Pennsylvania, raising claims of election tampering and calling the state’s voting process a “cheating operation” that’s occurring on “levels rarely seen before.”
On Wednesday morning, Trump took to his social media platform, TruthSocial, to declare his view that the state’s actions are unfairly biased against him. During a campaign rally in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the day before, he alleged that officials in Lancaster County had already begun “cheating,” asserting without substantiation that “every vote was written by the same person.” Trump’s comments come amidst investigations in select Pennsylvania counties into unusual voter registration forms submitted by canvassing groups—forms that are distinct from actual ballots. Nonetheless, Trump has publicly equated these investigations with evidence of widespread election fraud.
Local officials have countered Trump’s claims, clarifying that while some suspicious registration forms have indeed been identified, no fraudulent ballots have been cast. Instead, election workers have flagged registration forms, many submitted by out-of-state canvassing groups, for additional verification. Investigations have been launched by law enforcement in two counties to scrutinize these registrations.
In Lancaster County alone, approximately 2,500 questionable voter registrations were flagged. Officials insist these forms are being thoroughly examined to ensure electoral integrity. Lancaster County Commissioner Alice Yoder confirmed that rigorous verification efforts are in place, stating, “The system worked.”
