Former U.S. President Donald Trump is standing firmly behind his ally, Elon Musk, showering the tech billionaire with praise despite mounting criticism over his new role in the government.
Trump took to Truth Social on Wednesday to eulogize Musk, calling him a man of “great personality and brainpower.” His glowing endorsement comes after the Tesla and SpaceX CEO faced intense backlash following his appointment as head of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
The appointment has sparked outrage, particularly among Democrats, who have questioned Musk’s role in shaping U.S. policies. Meanwhile, Musk himself has voiced frustration over what he describes as “infinite indignities” on X, the social media platform he acquired in 2022.
Brushing off the criticism, Trump doubled down on his support, emphasizing Musk’s intelligence and influence. “He’s definitely a high IQ person, which is why his strong endorsement meant so much to me and to MAGA,” Trump stated.
Adding to the praise, Trump revealed that Musk was attending a Mar-a-Lago concert, where he was met with overwhelming support. “The crowd absolutely loves him,” Trump declared, before thanking Musk for his efforts in what he called the “most consequential election in 129 years.”
