A recent New York Times report reveals that former President Donald Trump has repeatedly used derogatory language to describe Vice President Kamala Harris in private. The article, titled “Inside the Worst Three Weeks of Donald Trump’s 2024 Campaign,” highlights a period of intense frustration and public turmoil for Trump.
According to the Times, Trump has been overheard calling Harris a “bitch” on multiple occasions. This derogatory term reportedly came up in private conversations among Trump’s inner circle. The report details Trump’s mounting frustrations as his 2024 presidential campaign faces significant challenges.
In recent weeks, Trump has voiced his discontent with Harris, who has been energizing the Democratic base with large rallies and substantial fundraising efforts since becoming the Democratic nominee. Trump’s language toward Harris has reportedly included other disparaging remarks, such as calling her “nasty” during a segment on “Fox & Friends.”
Trump’s campaign spokesperson, Steven Cheung, has denied these claims, stating, “That is not language President Trump has used to describe Kamala, and it’s not how the campaign would characterize her.” However, this denial comes amid broader controversies surrounding Trump’s comments on Harris’s race and identity.
Last month, Trump raised eyebrows at a National Association of Black Journalists event in Chicago by questioning Harris’ racial identity. He stated, “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black.” Trump’s comments on Harris, who is of Jamaican and Indian descent, sparked criticism and confusion.
In a meeting with anxious donors on August 2, Trump reportedly defended his controversial statements about Harris, asserting, “I think I was right,” and adding, “I am who I am.” This defense reflects Trump’s ongoing struggle to navigate the tumultuous landscape of his 2024 campaign.
