Former President Donald Trump launched a fierce attack on President Joe Biden during a rally in Arizona, declaring that Biden is “not allowed” to suggest that he should be locked up. This comment follows Biden’s earlier remark in New Hampshire where he stated that America needs to “lock [Trump] up,” clarifying that he meant this in a political context.
While speaking in New Hampshire, Biden expressed support for Vice President Kamala Harris as his potential successor, while also criticizing Trump’s promise to reduce the size of the federal government if he returns to office. Biden’s remarks were met with applause as he joked, “I mean, so I know this sounds bizarre. I know if I said this five years ago, you’d lock me up. We gotta lock him up.” He quickly added, “Politically lock him up. Lock him out. That’s what we have to do.”
The comment did not go unnoticed. CNN’s Jake Tapper anticipated that Trump’s campaign would seize the opportunity to capitalize on Biden’s gaffe. This is particularly relevant as Trump faces significant legal challenges, including a recent conviction on 34 felony counts related to falsifying business records and multiple indictments in different jurisdictions.
In response to Biden’s remarks, Trump criticized the current administration for allegedly using the Justice Department against him. During his Tempe rally, Trump stated, “The whole world is watching us, and they see these people that don’t deserve to be in any position of authority. Remember, he got – whether you like him or not, I’m not a fan of his – did you see last night he blew it?”
Trump continued to ridicule Biden, emphasizing his disdain by calling him “such a stupid guy” and “such a stupid fool.” His comments reflect the ongoing tension between the two leaders as they prepare for the upcoming election cycle, with both sides eager to sway public opinion.
