A fiery response on November 1, 2023, Alina Habba, the lawyer representing former President Donald Trump, strongly criticized a New York court and its prosecutors. Her objection stemmed from the news that Trump’s children were being compelled to testify in a $250 million fraud trial.

As reported by Raw Story, during a televised interview on Real America’s Voice, the show’s host, Gina Loudon, accused the court of orchestrating a banana republic style trial. Habba emphatically agreed.
Habba shed light on the contentious legal battle, revealing that Trump’s two sons, Eric and Don Jr., were named as defendants in the case. They’re not just bringing them up on the stand, she asserted. They’ve listed them as defendants because they were employees of the Trump organization. So they listed them.
Ivanka Trump, however, was spared from being a defendant in the case, a point that Habba emphasized, stating that Ivanka is no longer a defendant in this matter, but the boys are still in it. Habba launched a scathing critique against New York Attorney General Letitia James, alleging that the prosecution’s motives were driven by optics and headline-grabbing tactics. It’s optics. It’s headlines, Habba opined. She also speculated on James’s intentions, suggesting that the Attorney General was keen to capitalize on the trial for her own political agenda.
Concluding her vehement critique, Habba insinuated that the trial was a strategic move to hinder Donald Trump’s political ambitions. She argued, So this is, again, a way to tie up Trump so that he can’t be on the campaign trail where he wants to be, insinuating that the legal proceedings were an intentional hindrance to Trump’s desire to reengage in the political arena.
